Little Bee Project started in 2011 as a hobby with the placement of two beehives in the backyard of my East Atlanta home with the intent on making the neighborhood a better place through urban agriculture. Those two hives have now grown to more than 75 colonies located across Metro-Atlanta. The individual colonies are managed naturally with the accepted responsibility to keep them healthy and strong. Similar to wineries that use bin numbers to sort and label a particular wine, Little Bee Project assigns a number to each honey referring back to the apiary where the nectar was gathered and the honey produced. The number is a reference to the street address where the apiary is located. As Little Bee Project grows, look for more numbers and unique honey harvests.
